Turning a biscuit tin into a finished present, right on the product page
What they do
Under "Make your gift extra special..." sit four tiles: gift boxes, gift bags, drinks and little extras. Tap one and its options open in place, with the total underneath climbing as you go.
Why it works
Nobody buys a biscuit tin for themselves at Christmas, so the add-ons are the rest of the present: a box to put it in, a bag to carry it, a bottle of prosecco. That's stuff a gift buyer would otherwise pick up somewhere else. One of everything takes a £39.95 tin to £115.95.
Makes sense when
Gift-led stores, and anything people mostly buy for someone else. Group the add-ons into a handful of categories rather than one long carousel, and show the total as it climbs so nobody gets a surprise in the basket.
Worth considering
Tapping a category adds its first option straight away, and Little Extras opens on a £38 candle. A "pick one" step might feel less like the basket's filling itself, but they may well have tested it.
