Letting shoppers choose a candle by mood and scent
What they do
You can filter by wellbeing need (De-stress, Sleep, Happy, Energy) and by fragrance family, in plain words: Zesty & fruity, Sweet & creamy.
Why it works
Nobody knows the scent names, but they know they want help sleeping or something fresh. Filters in the shopper's own words get them to a shortlist fast, especially when they're buying for someone else.
Makes sense when
Products bought for a feeling or a smell: candles, fragrance, tea. Every product needs tagging the same way, so budget for the data work.
Worth considering
The menu's Christmas link lands on this grid, when their Christmas Gift Shop page (by recipient, price and fragrance) is the better way in.
