A quiz pop-up shown to everyone after 23 seconds
What they do
Land on the homepage, do nothing, and around 23 seconds later a full-screen overlay takes over: "What's your main health goal right now?", with fourteen goals to pick from and a progress bar already at 11%. It fired at the same point on mobile and desktop in fresh sessions, with no scroll, click or exit movement needed to trigger it. It sits on top of the cookie banner and the Ask Luna chat button, both of which are already on screen.
Why it holds them back
The quiz itself is the best thing on the site, and the pop-up treats it as something to force on people rather than something they'd choose. A timer can't tell the difference between someone who arrived from a Magnesium ad and is halfway down the bestsellers row, someone who's browsing the goal tabs, and a returning subscriber topping up an order, so all three get the same interruption. On a phone it covers the whole screen. And it's solving a problem the site has already solved: the quiz is in the main navigation, in the homepage consultation block and inside the collection grid, so anyone who wants it can find it.
What to do instead
Keep the quiz pop-up, but trigger it on intent: exit intent on desktop, a second page view with nothing in the basket, or a visitor who has scrolled past the goal tabs without clicking one. Suppress it for anyone who landed on a product page from an ad or already has something in the basket. A slide-in from the corner does the same job without blocking the page. Run it against a holdout, because a pop-up that "works" on quiz starts can still cost more orders than it wins.
